Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi on Monday "advised" US President Joe Biden to "learn the lesson from the failed attempts to pressure and threaten Iran" by past American administrations, calling such attempts "vain hopes of bringing Iran to its knees."

Iranian news outlet Press TV quoted Salehi as saying, "Joe Biden must learn a lesson after noticing that 42 years of pressures and threats by former US administrations against Iran have not been able to force the Iranian nation into submission."
No admitting that American policy in this matter has failed vis-à-vis Iranian superiority was "not becoming of the US," he noted.
According to the report, the remarks were made as Salehi was touring an exhibition of the achievements of Iran's nuclear industry.
Salehi, who also serves as vice president, further slammed Biden's remarks that Tehran must stop uranium enrichment activities that are in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal.
"The United States must know that Iran's march toward peaceful nuclear energy is unstoppable and this right cannot be ignored," he said. "We are telling the US that instead of confrontation, it should also test interaction, which of course should be based on balance," he said.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said Sunday that Iran would roll back its nuclear efforts "if and when" the US lifts the crippling sanctions it has imposed on the Islamic republic over its illicit activities.
"Iran will return to its JCPOA obligations once the US fully lifts its sanctions in action and not in words or on paper, and once the sanction relief is verified by Iran," Khamenei said.
