Democratic Senate candidate Khaled Salem, who is running against Sen. Chuck Schumer in the 2022 mid-term election, called on Wednesday for the United Nations to eliminate immunity for the Arab monarchies and for Gulf states to normalize with Israel.

Salem, an Egyptian-born naturalized citizen, wants the UN to rescind immunity to prosecution and allow a person or organization the right to sue ruling Arab princes and kings for crimes against citizens, groups and even their own family members.
Salem also urged the Gulf States to normalize relations with Israel for the sake of peace. He added, "An alliance must be maintained against the barbaric Iranian influence in the Middle East."
