In addition to heartfelt messages from fashion houses and magazines, celebrities who were photographed in Elbaz's creations over the years also took to social media to express their sorrow at his passing.

One of the most moving posts came from Kim Kardashian and quickly garnered over 2 million likes.
"Sweet Alber. When I heard the news of his passing today my heart broke," Kardashian wrote in her Instagram post.
"Alber dressed me for my first Vogue cover and gifted me with the cover dress," she reminisced, calling him a "sweet soul."
