According to a new report by BDO on the influx of EVs into the Israel market, the first five months of 2021 saw an additional 8,650 EVs enter use in Israel.
Herzog notes that 2021 is expected to be a "key year" in terms of EV sales in Israel and expects them to comprise 5.5% of all new vehicles sold. However, the Israeli EV market remains smaller than that of Europe, where EVs comprise 15% of all new vehicle sales.
BDO expects that by 2025, the number of electric and rechargeable vehicles in use in Israel will reach 215,000.
