Bennett, who assumed office on Sunday, met with Argamam on Tuesday for his first official briefing by the Shin Bet's chief, who detailed the long and short of general intelligence in the various areas overseen by the organization.
Under Israeli law, the ISA director is appointed for a five-year term. Argaman, who was named the agency's chief in 2016, was slated to step down in July. At this time, it is unknown who Bennett plans to name as the next Shin Bet director.
