'We're smarter and more determined, so don't test us,' PM tells Iran

Bennett: "We will not compromise on Israel's security and its existence." While Israel will consult with friends, at the end of the day, "we are the ones responsible for our own fate," he says.

Israel has consistently let its enemies know it means business and putting the seriousness of its intentions to the test would be unwise, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said on Thursday.

"Our enemies know all too well, not from our statements, but from our actions, that we are much more determined and much cleverer than they are, and that we do not hesitate to resort to action when it is called for," he said.

Speaking to a class of Israel Air Force graduates at a ceremony at the Hatzerim Air Base in Israel's south, Bennett said: "It is our responsibility to maintain the safety of the State of Israel, to guarantee its existence. On this, there are no and there will be no compromises."

He singled out the mullah regime in Tehran as Israel's regional enemy.

He said: "We would like the world to understand that the Iranian regime is violent and fanatical. It selected the Hangman of Tehran as its president – a man who is willing to starve his own people for years to have a military nuclear program. That is a regime you should not do business with."

"It is our responsibility to maintain the safety of the State of Israel, to guarantee its existence. On this, there are no and there will be no compromises," he said.

"We will continue to consult with our friends –  persuade, discuss, and share information and insights out of mutual respect," he said, in an apparent reference to Washington. "But at the end of the day, we will be responsible for our own fate, no one else."
