Shalom Lerner, executive director of the International Committee for Har Hazeitim met on Monday with Police Brig. Gen. Shmuel Marziano, who recently assume command of the eastern sector of Jerusalem, which includes Mount of Olives.

As part of a continuing dialogue with the police, Lerner accompanied by Jeff Daube, chair of the ICHH Israel executive committee, discussed with Marziano and several high-ranking officers under his command ways to improve the security at the site.
In addition, ICHH updated the police about the campaign underway to complete fundraising efforts toward the groundbreaking and construction of a new visitors education center that will also include a permanent police station.
"I am confident that police will be doing their best to ensure the safety of all those going to Har Hazeitim," Lerner said.
