Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Monday named Brig. Gen. Avi Gil as his military secretary, replacing Brig. Gen. Avi Blot, who has been in the role for the past three years, the IDF said in a statement.

"This appointment was made following consultations with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and at the recommendation of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi," the military said.
Gil, which currently serves as the head of the Training Division in the Operations Directorate, will be promoted to the rank of major general, the IDF said.
