We can't seem to get enough of avocados, with this fruit's creamy versatility inspiring countless recipes and demand growing annually. Now, German contemporary artist Tim Bengel has decided to take his love for the "green gold" literally, casting an avocado dish in the precious metal.

Bengel has created a solid gold pumpkin-seeded bagel with arugula, sliced tomato, and onion, and, of course, avocado.
This avocado art comes with a glitzy price as well: $3 million.

Bengel shared a glimpse of the creation process on Instagram and captioned it, "My first sculpture."
"For me, the avocado is one of the symbols of the millennial generation and I want to capture the Zeitgeist in this work," he says in the Instagram video.
The golden sandwich comprises 27 individual parts that amount to 12 pounds of 18 karat gold, he shared, saying, "Only the material is worth more than $250,000." This means that just one of the golden avocado slices would take a $14,000 bite out of one's wallet.
The sculpture has been put on display at the Berlin Art Week exhibition, the New York Post said.
