Tensions ran high in the West Bank city of Jenin on Saturday after the Palestinian Authority arrested the son of Zakaria Zubeidi a senior Fatah terrorist currently jailed in Israel.

The arrest followed local violence by protesters. Dozens of gunmen took to the streets of Jenin following the arrest. Zubeidi's son was eventually released several hours later.
Zubeidi, a former commander of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's military wing, was one of six Palestinian security prisoners who escaped from Gilboa Prison in northern Israel on Sept. 6, 2021, in what was the worst jailbreak in Israel's history.
