The Israel Hayom newspaper continues to be the most-read in the country, according to the Kantar Media's Target Group Index (TGI) survey rankings, published Monday. According to TGI's findings, Israel Hayom held the top spot in 2021, with average weekday exposure of 31%, compared to 23.7% in 2020.

According to TGI, Yedioth Ahronoth lagged some 7% behind Israel Hayom during 2020, with average exposure for the year standing at 23.9%.
Israel Hayom led in exposure for its weekend edition, as well, with 31.9% for 2021, compared to 24.8% in 2020. In 2021, Yedioth Ahronoth's weekend edition saw exposure of 29.8% for the year, compared to 27.1% in 2020.
Israel Hayom Editor-in-Chief Boaz Bismuth said in response to the publications of the TGI rankings that "Israel Hayom retains its significant lead over its competitors, as the most influential and widely-read newspaper in Israel, both on weekdays and on weekends.
"I am thankful for the great trust the Israeli public expresses in us and am proud of the talented journalists and our entire team, who are working out of the belief that the people of Israel deserve patriotic, professional journalism, that expresses a range of voices in Israeli society," Bismuth said.
Although the TGI data showed that in 2021, Israel Hayom enjoyed greater exposure than it did in 2020, the second half of 2021 saw a dip, with the paper's exposure dropping from 31.5% in H1 to 30.5% in H2. Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth dipped from 25.4% in H1 of 2021 to 22.5% in H2.
