An Israeli couple shopping in the West Bank city of Qalqilya was carjacked, the Israel Police confirmed Saturday, saying an investigation was in progress.

The statement said that the Israeli man was attacked by suspects who pepper-sprayed him, then allegedly removed his partner from the car and sped away. The woman reportedly sustained a minor injury in the incident.
The police reiterated that Israelis are barred from entering Area A – parts of the West Bank that are under the Palestinian Authority's control.
