New app aims to help users find Jewish events anywhere in the world

The app works by scouring sources such as Facebook, Instagram, and non-profit organizations, and then shows users the events on an interactive, easy-to-use map.

Three 20-year-old Israelis are working to create a new platform to help people find Jewish and Israeli events in the vicinity of their specific location anywhere in the world.

"Jews abroad encounter many daily dilemmas – and this application gives them a framework," the creators said.

The app works by scouring sources such as Facebook, Instagram, and non-profit organizations, and then shows users the events on an interactive, easy-to-use map.

"The main goal is to help Jews living across the globe stay connected to the Jewish community," said Guy Kozliner, Nadav Shteyer, and Lilach Markovitch. "In addition, the platform is a convenient tool for community organizers to run events easily through a database of service providers."

The creators of the app received seed funding of NIS 30,000 last week, within the framework of the "Greenhouse" project that seeks to empower the next generation of young Israelis who want to take responsibility for the future of the Jewish people and Israel. The project belongs to the TLI (Triumph Leadership Innovation) organization in conjunction with the World Zionist Organization.

"We embarked on a series of meetings with Jews in New York to find out whether people would be interested in such a platform… Now, after receiving the funding, we will begin working on the scanning algorithm, development of the app, website, and bot," they said.
