Several terrorists were killed in Jenin Thursday in an IDF raid Israeli officials say "prevented a major terror attack."

According to Palestinian reports, eight others were injured and hospitalized. One of the terrorists killed was 24-year-old Saeb Azriqi. According to health officials, 9 Palestinian died – including the terrorists – and 16 were injured.

The IDF said in a brief statement that it was operating in Jenin and would provide more details later. Footage circulating on social media showed explosions and gunfire in the area. Additionally, there were reports of Palestinian gunmen shooting down an Israeli military drone.
Tensions in the West Bank – particularly in Jenin, a known Islamic stronghold – have soared as the IDF continues its counterterrorism operation known as "Breakwater."
It was launched in the summer of 2022 in response to deadly terror attacks perpetrated by Palestinians in Israel earlier in the year.
