The number of fatalities from Friday's ramming attack in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood rose to three on Satruday as one of the victims succumbed to his wounds.

The attack happened around 2 p.m. on Friday when a terrorist drove his car directly into a crowd of people waiting at a bus stop in Ramot, situated in one of the capital's northern areas.

A 20-year-old man, Shlomo Alter Laderman, and 6-year-old Yaakov Israel Pally, died shortly after the incident. Pally's 10-year-old brother, Asher Menachem, died on Saturday at the hospital. The two brothers' father, who was among those critically hurt in the attack, underwent surgery over the weekend.

The terrorist attack resulted in at least seven casualties on the scene, with four suffering from major wounds upon impact and another two in moderate and light conditions in the immediate aftermath.

According to first responders, two of the victims were children. The terrorist, a resident of east Jerusalem by the name of Hussein Karaka, was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to take swift action against the terrorist, announcing, "We will immediately seal the perpetrator's home and destroy it." He added that he had instructed all the security agencies to crack down on the terrorist's associates.

The ramming attack happened a the busy hour of the week as families prepare for their Shabbat. The stop was packed with people according to witnesses on the scene.

The terrorist attack comes amid heightened tensions with terrorist organizations and ongoing escalation in Gaza. Just recently a terrorist carried out a massacre in northern Jerusalem, and rocket fire was fired in recent days on Israel.

On Saturday night, residents of the Gaza border heard the "Color Red" alert once again. Shortly afterward, the IDF said it had detected a single rocket fired and that it had been successfully intercepted.
