As Israel entered the 25th day of the Operation Iron Swords Tuesday, the IDF released a recording of a directive from the GOC Southern Command's Chief of Staff Major General Yaron Finkelman, to ground his forces before entering the strip.

In the recording, he attempted to lift the soldiers' spirits and stressed that the goal is to crush the Hamas terrorist organization.
"Southern Command stations, this is chief. We are launching an attack on Hamas and terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. Our goal is one, victory. No matter how long and tough the battle may be, there is no other outcome except victory," said Finkelman.

"We will fight with professionalism and strength, in line with the values of the IDF in which we were trained, with dedication to the mission and a determination to achieve victory. We will fight in the streets, in the tunnels, wherever necessary. We will strike down the loathsome enemy we face. Our brothers, the residents of Beersheba, Sderot, Nir Oz, Kfar Gaza, and the settlements of the western Negev, along with all of the people of Israel, are all looking at us now. Like me, they also rely on you and believe in you. You are the generation of victory. Carry out your mission, strike down the enemy, and succeed."
