A record 40,000 runners gather Friday, March 8, for 13th International Jerusalem Winner Marathon. The event, held as a tribute to the IDF, security, and rescue forces, showcased an unprecedented level of solidarity.

Melkamu Jember, 33, emerged victorious, clinching the marathon with a remarkable time of 2:35:39. Notably, the marathon witnessed a record-breaking attendance, including 15,000 IDF soldiers, 1,800 international runners, and various members of security and rescue forces.
The marathon route traversed through Jerusalem's rich tapestry of history, encompassing iconic landmarks such as the Knesset, the Old City walls, Mount Zion, and the Mount of Olives.
Mayor Moshe Lion expressed pride in the event's success amidst challenging times, underscoring the significance of solidarity with the nation's defenders.
The marathon, featuring six categories including Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and a unique Communities Race, also spotlighted remarkable stories of resilience and remembrance.
Organized by the Jerusalem Municipality and supported by various ministries, the event served as a beacon of unity and resilience, embodying the spirit of Jerusalem.
Sportswear company "Saucony" is a partner in the event and also markets the official Winner Jerusalem Marathon running shoe and official race shirt. Additional sponsors for the marathon include Hapoel Center, Eldan, Cinema City, Riedman College, and Bezeq Business. The marathon was produced by "Electra Targat."
