The IDF announced Tuesday the death of a soldier in the northern Gaza Strip.
He was named as Cpt. Roy Miller, 21, a platoon commander in the 435th Infantry Battalion, from Herzliya. He has been posthumously promoted from lieutenant to captain.
Miller's mother eulogized him, saying, "My heroic Roy chose the path of leadership ... We must take note of these pure-hearted soldiers and what they teach us about unity, shared destiny, and unwavering faith. I am proud of my son Roy, kind-hearted and handsome, who excelled in everything. I am proud of his fighting spirit, his choices, and the care he showed toward his soldiers and others. I was blessed with nearly 22 amazing years. As the mother of Captain Roy Miller, I am proud of you and feel blessed to have had you as my son."
Two more fighters were injured in the fighting and have been evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
Miller's death brings the toll of the IDF Gaza campaign to 324.
