Three days of celebrations took place in the secluded corners of the city, with a scent of American grandeur and Italian elegance – but also with considerable opposition from some of the residents.
The city of Venice, which is usually accustomed to concerts and romantic cruises, experienced an invasion of a different kind as private jets (no fewer than 90) landed at Marco Polo Airport.
