After the much-publicized failure of Disney's "Snow White," in which she played the Evil Queen, Israeli actress Gal Gadot has returned to filming.
The new role, in the thriller The Runner, directed by Kevin Macdonald, is a reminder of why she remains one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. Currently shooting in London, Gadot, 40, plays a lawyer drawn into a frantic chase across the city after receiving mysterious calls from an unknown man, all in a desperate attempt to rescue her kidnapped son.
Entertainment sites published recent photos of Gadot bundled in a black puffer coat and leaning on crutches, following what appears to be an on-set injury.

No official details have been released about the incident, but given Gadot's well-known commitment to performing many of her own stunts, it seems likely the injury was another case of her embracing the adrenaline, even without Wonder Woman's armor.
But the drama didn't stay confined to the script. During filming, which has coincided with a period of heightened security tensions in Israel in the aftermath of the October 7 massacre, pro-Palestinian demonstrators attempted to disrupt the production. Several were reportedly arrested, turning London's busy streets into a scene of not only cinematic action but political protest as well.
For Gadot - who has repeatedly faced public backlash over her Israeli identity, military service, and political views - the confrontation is another example of how Hollywood and Israeli realities often collide.
And for those who thought "Snow White" might slow her down, think again: Gadot has already signed on to Ruin, a World War II drama set to shoot in 2026. In the upcoming film, directed by Niki Caro, she will portray a concentration camp survivor who joins forces with a former German soldier (Matthias Schoenaerts) on a revenge mission against Nazis. Industry insiders say the project could mark a return to more serious dramatic roles for Gadot, and another chance to prove she's far more than a Hollywood icon.
