Tensions between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reached a new peak in a phone conversation that took place on July 28.
According to American sources who spoke with NBC, the call, which Netanyahu requested to conduct, dealt with the humanitarian situation in Gaza, but quickly deteriorated into shouting.
The Prime Minister's office responded to the NBC report, stating that the report claiming there was supposedly a "shouting match" between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump is absolute fake news.

Netanyahu argued to Trump that reports of starvation in the Strip are Hamas fabrication, but Trump cut him off sharply and said he was not prepared to hear that it was fake, adding that he had received proof that there are hungry children in Gaza.
According to one of the sources, most of the conversation was one-sided, with Trump doing most of the talking, against the backdrop of American concern about the functioning of the humanitarian aid fund for Gaza managed jointly with Israel.
The conversation took place after public exchanges of statements between the two. On July 27, at an event in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said that "there is no starvation policy in Gaza and there is no hunger in Gaza." The next day, during a visit to Scotland, Trump contradicted his words and said he saw pictures of children in Gaza who looked hungry, that he was "not particularly convinced" by Netanyahu's assurance, saying there was "real starvation" in the Strip and adding: "You can't fake that."
