The official cause of death for Ozzy Osbourne, the "Prince of Darkness" and lead singer of Black Sabbath, has been revealed in his death certificate filed this week with the London Registry Office. Osbourne, who died on July 22 at the age of 76, succumbed to a heart attack.
According to the certificate, submitted by his daughter Aimée Osbourne and also cited by the New York Times, he suffered cardiac arrest at home, an acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with impaired autonomic function. These conditions were listed jointly as causes of death.

The British rock icon, who rose to fame in the 1970s as frontman of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, had battled severe health problems in recent years. Although he publicly disclosed his Parkinson's diagnosis only in 2020, after a serious fall, the certificate shows he had lived with the disease for many years before making it public.
In his final performance, held in his hometown of Birmingham just weeks before his death, Osbourne appeared seated on a black throne while performing his hits. "I don't know what to say, I was bedridden for about six years. You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he told the crowd. "You're all special. Let's go crazy, come on."
