Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo proposed Monday night to his partner of nine years, Georgina Rodriguez, with a massive, oversized ring that captured media attention worldwide. "Yes, I do. In this and in all of my lives," his newly engaged fiancée wrote in Spanish.
The grandiose ring she received, featuring an elliptical cut, apparently consists of 22 carats and is set in platinum, according to Benjamin Khordipour from Estate Diamond Jewelry. While experts disagree on the ring's price, its value stands at several million dollars. Khordipour told the Brides website that the ring's price is approximately $1,200,000. According to other estimates by expert Tobias Kormind, the general manager of 77 Diamonds in London, published on the People website, the ring includes 37 carats and its value stands at up to five million dollars.
Jeweler Logan Hollowell told the WWD website that this is truly a masterpiece and noted the similarity to the ring Lauren Sanchez received from billionaire Jeff Bezos. "The design is similar to Lauren Sanchez's engagement ring, which included a 30-carat ring with an estimated value of $2.5 million."

Internet users were amazed by the ring's size and responded with humor. "Don't let her finger fall off," one female user responded. "That's not a stone, that's a brick," another user wrote in one of the posts that came up on the topic.
Others noted Ronaldo's vast wealth but wrote "proof that money doesn't buy style." "It's not even beautiful, just big and excessive," others wrote. "I have trouble responding; the ring is hiding the text from me," another female user responded to the post.
Finally, others congratulated the happy couple and celebrated with them, after nine years of partnership and four shared children. "May it be with good luck, it's about time. They're a stunning couple. I wish I had money to pay for such a ring."
