The JID organization for combating antisemitism revealed this morning (Friday) a serious incident involving a 9-year-old patient who came for medical treatment at the hospital in the town of Knokke in Belgium. After the girl received medical treatment, the doctor wrote a detailed report with several sections stating she suffered from "traumatic pain in the lower part of the left arm," and when he reached the section where the girl's medical "allergies" were to be recorded, he wrote "Jewish (Israeli)," apparently without any visible medical reason.
JID organization's investigation reveals the doctor is of Middle Eastern origin, with videos and messages in Arabic against Israel on his Facebook page. The organization announced that this morning, a complaint will be filed with law enforcement authorities and the medical establishment in the country and strongly attacked the "marking of Jews" carried out by the doctor.
According to the organization, not only is this an official antisemitic statement documented in the girl's medical file, but it also constitutes a "blatant violation of medical ethics. The fact that a doctor, whose duty is to treat every patient with dignity and without bias, would insert such a statement into a medical record constitutes a disgrace to the Belgian healthcare system. The JID organization will take immediate legal and disciplinary action and demands that both the hospital and the Belgian Medical Council address the matter with utmost seriousness."

They added: "Antisemitism must never become the norm, especially not in an official medical document concerning a child. We call on the competent authorities to respond firmly and show that antisemitism in any form will never be tolerated. The case raises difficult questions about the culture of the medical profession and the need for additional training and education to prevent expressions of hatred in essential public institutions like hospitals."
According to Ralph Pace, chairman of the JID organization for combating antisemitism, "This case is of maximum severity. Writing such an antisemitic note in a girl's medical report crosses every red line. JID will pursue every possible legal and disciplinary avenue, and we expect the hospital and the Medical Council to act quickly and decisively."
The "quiet" phenomenon where Jews fear seeking medical treatment in medical institutions has been percolating beneath the surface for a long time, and even more so since October 7. Cases where Jews encountered hostility or expressed concern about hostility from medical staff are already known in countries like Ireland, Britain, Norway, and others. In many cases, Jews prefer to downplay their Judaism when receiving medical treatment.
