Following the recent targeted killings in Gaza and Yemen, the government and Diplomatic-Security cabinet meetings was moved Sunday to an undisclosed secure compound over fears that they could be targeted. The strike in Yemen killed the prime minister of the Iranian-backed Houthi government as well as many ministers, leading to their strongly worded threats that they would retaliate.
At 11:00 a.m., the government meeting is expected to occur, at 4:00 p.m. a briefing by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the ministers will occur, and at 6:00 p.m. the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet will convene.

At the same time, against the background of Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir and Minister of Education Yoav Kisch's calls not to support the budget following the shortage in the school security budget, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich is boycotting the meetings and announced that he will cease to attend.
