The words most closely associated with Thunberg are "How dare you" - and Yemeni journalist Luai Ahmed, well known in Israel for his outspoken defense of the country in international forums, chose that very phrase as the central motif of a video he posted Monday on Instagram. In it, he criticized the Swedish activist for focusing on Gaza flotillas while there are many other places in the world in desperate need of help.
"Greta Thunberg, how dare you? How dare you sail to Gaza instead of Yemen? How dare you chase headlines while my country starves? How dare you claim to speak on behalf of the world's oppressed, but only when it trends on Instagram?"

"More than 10 million Yemeni children are starving, and the world is silent. Where is your flotilla to Yemen?" he asked, echoing the phrasing from Thunberg's famous UN speech at the age of 14. "Where is your outrage? You talk about justice and human rights, but somehow Yemen never makes it to your speeches. You have time for two Gaza flotillas, but not even one trip to the world's worst famine? You claim to hold world leaders accountable, but when it comes to your own hypocrisy - silence."
He concluded by again invoking the words most identified with Thunberg - but this time, in her own language.
