Following more than a year of planning, multiple delays, and a henna party that made headlines, the much-publicized wedding of Avner Netanyahu and Amit Yardeni will not take place. The couple has split, with Netanyahu moving out of their shared apartment and renting a new place. This is not the first time the prime minister's son has called off an engagement.
The engagement that didn't last
The wedding, scheduled after two postponements, has now been canceled for good. The announcement came after a lavish henna ceremony attended by the Netanyahu family, who appeared smiling in photos. Avner has since left the apartment he shared with Yardeni and moved into his own.

Postponements, threats, and finally cancellation
The couple was originally set to marry at Havat Ronit in November 2023, but the war forced a delay until June. Just days before the new date, the Iranian attack and Home Front Command restrictions led the family to announce another postponement. In the background, protest groups had also threatened to disrupt the wedding and create massive traffic jams in the area. A new date was never set, and now it is clear there won't be one.

A recurring pattern?
This is not the first time Netanyahu's younger son has experienced a high-profile breakup. In February 2022, after three years in a relationship, he and Noy Bar called off their engagement. Only a few months later, he revealed his new relationship with Yardeni on social media, drawing significant media attention. Unlike his brother Yair, Avner prefers to stay out of the spotlight and tried to keep this relationship as low-key as possible.
