According to a report published by the The Wall Street Journal, US authorities will increase security around President Donald Trump in the wake of the assassination of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The White House is said to be in a state of mourning, with a number of senior Trump advisers deeply concerned about their personal safety.
Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist, was shot during an event with students. Security teams evacuated him from the scene. Videos circulating on social media show the moment he was shot while sitting under a tent in a university courtyard.
