A decomposed body found in a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd at a Los Angeles impound lot was identified as a 15-year-old girl. According to NBC Los Angeles, the girl was identified as Celeste Rivas by forensic analysis. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined a cause of death.
The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that it had not yet received a "crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death," and therefore had no suspect information. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Tuesday that it had identified "the juvenile who was reported missing from Lake Elsinore" as Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

The sheriff's office later apologized for having initially referred to the case as a homicide, clarifying that the Los Angeles Police Department is the lead agency. The remains were discovered on September 8 when police were called to Hollywood Tow after an individual reported an abandoned Tesla, according to a police statement and NBC Los Angeles.
The medical examiner's office said the girl had wavy black hair, weighed about 71 pounds, and was wearing a tube top with black leggings, a yellow metal chain bracelet, and stud earrings.
Law enforcement sources told NBC News the remains were not intact, and the medical examiner had said the girl appeared to have been dead in the vehicle for a long time. A representative for D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, said he had been informed of the incident and was "fully cooperating with the authorities." A scheduled concert for D4vd on Wednesday in Seattle was canceled following the news.
