According to a report in Us Weekly magazine, Angelina Jolie is planning to leave Los Angeles and move to live abroad after her youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, celebrate their 18th birthday next July. According to the report, this is a step Jolie has been preparing for years, and it marks a significant change in her personal and professional life.
Jolie already told Harper's Bazaar magazine in 2019 that she is staying in Los Angeles only to allow her children to maintain close contact with their father, actor Brad Pitt. Since the couple's separation in 2016, they have been raising six children together – Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (17). She said then, "I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now, I'm having to base where their father chooses to live." Now, it appears, she is about to fulfill her promise.

Sources close to her were quoted in the magazine, saying that Jolie is "lighter, more peaceful, and ready for a new beginning." According to them, although she loves Los Angeles, she feels the city "has fulfilled its role" in her life, and now she wants to move forward to the next stage.
According to the report, Jolie is planning to establish herself partly in Cambodia, where she adopted her eldest son Maddox in 2002, and to spend additional periods in France and Africa, regions to which she has deep family and emotional connections. "She has close friends in each of these places, and she considers them family," one source noted.
Jolie, who is currently filming a new series for Netflix in London, is focusing on film projects and humanitarian activity. Her son Maddox works alongside her as an assistant director, and she plans to continue directing and producing films outside the United States. According to sources, she is also planning to sell her Los Angeles mansion, valued at approximately $24.5 million, next September.
