US President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that the Hamas must disarm, saying the United States would act decisively to dismantle it if it failed to do so, potentially through violent means.
"They will disarm. And if they don't disarm, we will disarm them, and it'll happen quickly and, perhaps, violently, but they will disarm," the president warned.

Addressing the ongoing hostage negotiations, Trump said that Washington had achieved a major success by bringing hostages home. However, he accused Hamas of misleading both Israel and the international community about the number of bodies in its possession, explaining that the terrorist organization had initially claimed to be holding between 24 and 26 hostages, but that the real number appeared to be lower. He added that this remained a deeply painful issue and reiterated his determination to secure the return of all the hostages.
The president also commented that despite Hamas's commitment to disarm, its only concrete actions so far had been the elimination of two smaller gangs and several of their members.
Earlier, Trump reflected on developments in the region, describing the past week as a positive turning point for the Middle East. He characterized the summit in Sharm el-Sheikh as comprehensive and fast-paced, saying it could spark a transformation so profound that the region would soon be unrecognizable.
