After a week without the return of any deceased hostages, there are growing indications that the terrorist organization Hamas will hand over two, later today.
Earlier this week, a coffin was transferred from Gaza that was initially believed to contain the body of another fallen hostage. Following forensic examination at the National Center of Forensic Medicine, it was confirmed that the remains belonged to Ofir Tzarfati.
As of now, 13 deceased hostages remain in Hamas captivity. Under the ceasefire deal, Hamas is obligated to return them all.
The IDF added that "out of sensitivity, official identification should be provided first to the families of the hostages. Hamas is required to honor the deal and make every necessary effort to return the hostages."
