The IDF released new intelligence on Thursday from Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, presenting the extensive terrorist infrastructure built in the city by Hamas.
A large underground system was constructed beneath civilian homes, forming a network of tunnels running through the entire city. Above ground, thousands of buildings were identified as weapons storage sites, firing positions and command centers used by terrorists. IDF units operated in the city with determination, methodically dismantling terrorist infrastructure that posed a direct threat to residents of the western Negev.

During the ground maneuver in the city, IDF troops exposed the extensive underground system constructed beneath civilian homes. The tunnel network cuts across Beit Hanoun and served Hamas terrorists for a wide range of terrorist activities. Above ground, thousands of buildings were found to have been used by the terrorist organization as weapons depots, firing posts and command hubs.

Throughout the war, the true nature of Hamas has again been revealed, using civilian populations as cover for terrorist activity. One of the most notable findings uncovered during the operation in Beit Hanoun was the presence of armed terrorists inside an elementary school, beneath which troops discovered a shaft leading to a terror tunnel. This reflects the terrorist organization's characteristic method of operation.
