US citizens have been instructed by the Trump administration to exit Iran immediately as civil disorder sweeps the nation, according to The Hill. A safety warning issued by the virtual US Embassy for Iran urges Americans to "leave Iran now" and "have a plan for departing Iran that does not rely on US government help," the publication reported.
"Protests across Iran are escalating and may turn violent, resulting in arrests and injuries. Increased security measures, road closures, public transportation disruptions, and internet blockages are ongoing," the text of the alert reads, per The Hill. It added that "The Government of Iran has restricted access to mobile, landline, and national internet networks."

On Monday, US President Donald Trump cautioned that he would enforce a 25% duty on nations continuing trade with Tehran in retaliation for the brutal state crackdown on growing opposition rallies, The Hill noted. "Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America. This Order is final and conclusive," Trump stated.
Rallies against the regime have erupted recently alongside a severe government response. Activists claim at least 500 people have been killed, while the Human Rights Activists News Agency logged 10,600 arrests. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Monday that his nation is poised for war, amid reports that Trump is evaluating military measures to intervene and defend protesters, the outlet concluded.
