Flight attendant reveals 2 lies told to passengers on every flight

The aircraft cabin is known as an especially cold space, and when passengers request a slight temperature increase, flight attendants often lie and say they will, while in reality, they don't adjust the temperature because they are already warm from walking and working in the aircraft.

Among the responsibilities of flight attendants is serving food and beverages to passengers and maintaining their safety and comfort throughout the flight. Now, one flight attendant is revealing some of their secret practices.

The flight attendant admits to "little lies" that attendants tell passengers, things she claims are for the passengers' benefit. For example, when a business class passenger requests coffee on a night flight, the attendant prepares decaffeinated coffee so the passenger can fall asleep comfortably.

But that's not the only lie. The aircraft cabin is known as an especially cold space, and when passengers request a slight temperature increase, flight attendants often lie and say they will, while in reality, they don't adjust the temperature because they are already warm from walking and working in the aircraft. To prevent getting cold, passengers are advised to bring a blanket or wear long clothing, thus ensuring comfortable warmth regardless of air conditioning settings.

Another point the attendant emphasized is the quality of water on the aircraft. During the flight, when salty snacks are served, it's natural for passengers to feel thirsty, but the water on the aircraft isn't always of optimal quality. The attendant noted, "The water tanks aren't cleaned regularly, but we still drink it and use it to prepare tea and coffee."

There are also things that annoy flight attendants. Immediately upon boarding, requesting water can be frustrating. The boarding phase is loaded with safety tasks, and water or medication requests at that time complicate the flow. It's better to drink at the gate before boarding.

What else might annoy flight attendants?

Using the restroom during meal service – It's difficult and unsafe to pass between service carts to the restrooms. Better to wait until your row is clear.

Repeatedly pressing the call button – Urgent needs are legitimate, but repeatedly pressing the call button for trivial matters only distracts the crew. Patience is helpful.

Relying on crew to lift heavy luggage – Flight attendants aren't supposed to lift heavy cargo; it can cause serious injuries. If the bag is too heavy, consider sending it to the aircraft's belly.

Requesting a meal after service has ended – Meal distribution is carefully timed. Those who missed out probably won't get another opportunity. Better to bring a personal snack.
