Police are investigating allegations that the partner of a well-known Israeli singer assaulted a former Hamas hostage who was released in the most recent deal, during an incident overnight at the Rothschild 33 club in Tel Aviv. The former hostage has given testimony to police, and the investigation is in its early stages.
According to preliminary findings, the former hostage arrived at a private party at the club and attempted to enter but was denied access. Shortly afterward, a violent altercation reportedly broke out at the scene, during which he was allegedly assaulted by the singer's partner, who was present at the venue.
In his statement at the police station, the former hostage said: "I arrived at the club and tried to get in. The singer's partner wouldn't let me. An argument started and then he attacked me."
Investigators also say that during the confrontation, another partygoer, described as an acquaintance of the former hostage, was allegedly assaulted as well. When the former hostage attempted to intervene and help his friend, he himself was attacked.
Police are now examining the circumstances of the incident, the roles of those involved and the sequence of events, as part of an ongoing investigation.
