The White House rejected the report, calling it "misleading." In an official statement, it said there are no minimum membership fees and no financial demands tied to joining or remaining in the Board of Peace. "This is a proposal for permanent membership for partner countries that demonstrate a deep commitment to peace, security and prosperity," the statement said.
The administration did not address the specific sum mentioned in the report. In official statements by Trump and his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, announcing the establishment of the Board of Peace, there was no reference to any financial requirement for participating countries.
The Board of Peacel was formally announced on Saturday as part of the US plan for Phase Two following the end of the war in the Gaza Strip. According to the White House, the body will be an international forum chaired by Trump and composed of heads of state. It is meant to oversee the governance and reconstruction of Gaza through the executive board, alongside a Palestinian technocratic administration and an international stabilization force.
