Iran thanks Spain's Sánchez on missile amid escalating anti-Israel stance

After repeatedly condemning the US-Israeli war against Iran, propaganda outlets in Tehran have issued a public thank you to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. After calling the war in Gaza a "genocide," Sánchez is stepping up his solidarity with the axis of evil.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, published photos on Sunday of stickers apparently attached to Iranian missiles bearing the words "Thank you, Prime Minister," alongside a picture of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and a quote attributed to him: "Of course, this war is not only illegal, but also inhumane."

Sánchez made the remarks on Thursday in Brussels ahead of the opening of the European Union summit, when he said Spain "has condemned the war from the very first moment" and regards it as "illegal." His government has barred the United States from using joint military bases on Spanish territory for strikes on Iran, prompting Trump to threaten Madrid with a suspension of trade ties.

Sánchez is seen as one of the most anti-Israel leaders in Europe. Since the start of the war in Gaza, he has unilaterally recognized a Palestinian state, imposed an arms embargo on Israel and called the war in Gaza a "genocide." More recently, the government in Madrid dismissed the country's ambassador to Tel Aviv, leaving its mission in Israel at a lower diplomatic level.

The stickers published by Tasnim on Sunday are part of a broader Iranian propaganda campaign that the regime in Tehran has been running since the outbreak of the war. In recent weeks, Iran has released similar images of slogans written on missiles, some featuring verses from the Quran, others referring to the Jeffrey Epstein affair, and still others carrying propaganda slogans.
