Khaled Awad, who stabbed Rabbi Shlomo Noginski in Boston on July 1, arrived in the US with biased views against Jews, Christians and American culture, Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Margaret Hegarty says during a court hearing.
"Bullying, vandalism and hateful discourse targeting Jewish youth create an unsafe learning environment and compel children to mask their Jewish identity. This is a reality no Canadian should accept," Noah Shack of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs says.
"As antisemitic attacks have become more frequent... concern in the Jewish community and among our allies has reached a fever pitch," says Melissa Landa, director of Alliance for Israel, which is spearheading the rally.
"Self-defense can no longer be a foreign concept to American Jews. It must become the absolute norm," says Legion cofounder Meredith Weiss.
Khaled Awad is facing a hearing to determine whether he is a danger to society after stabbing Rabbi Shlomo Noginski several times outside a Jewish school in Boston.
Dr. Fidaa Wishah is no longer affiliated with the center after concern grew about her ability to treat Jewish children under her care.
"It is our national and moral duty to make Jews in the Diaspora feel and understand that we are with them and that Israel and its citizens see them as an integral part of the Jewish people," Gesher CEO Ilan Geal-Dor said.
"Such behavior is not only inexcusable but brings shame on us all," a German military spokesperson says.
Community Security Trust, a non-profit responsible for the protection of the United Kingdom's Jewish community, registers a record number of antisemitic incidents in London in May.
Swastika was discovered days ago, but it is not clear when it was painted on the ark, which is located in a waiting room that was closed due to the COVID pandemic.
