Like many news outlets worldwide, the Al-Jazeera channel used this AP footage livestreamed from the Gaza border. Minister Karhi believed the live coverage endangered Israeli troops by exposing their locations and that he had the authority under the Al-Jazeera law to confiscate the equipment.
"I made the point that there is dispute around whether, very tragically, some of the hostages taken on October 7 were raped when held by Hamas," LBC's Natasha Devon writes. Many outlets focused on the former president's comments urging Israel to "finish up" the Gaza war.
According to the report, published Tuesday, Israel Hayom continues to lead the pack among dailies in Israel. Between January-December 2023, the paper had an average exposure rate of 26.8% for its weekday edition, compared to 28.0% during the equivalent period in 2022 – a drop that is considered statistically insignificant.
HonestReporting, which flags anti-Israel bias in foreign media, published an investigation on Wednesday about photojournalists working for The New York Times, Reuters, AP, and CNN, asking how they were conveniently ready at the scenes of the atrocities. "The photographers and their employers are accomplices to the massacre that occurred in Israel on Saturday, October 7," MK Lieberman says.
The weekday edition had a 26.2% average exposure rate in the first half of 2023, compared to Yedioth Ahronoth's 21.3% for that period, representing a statistically significant gap.
"This is neither a trend nor a political statement. This is simply who I am. Just another element of who I am and who I have been since the day I came into my own," Yair Cherki says in a Facebook post.
The popular podcaster defends a 2019 tweet by Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has a history of antisemitic and anti-Israel remarks, in which she claimed that pro-Israel votes in Congress were "all about the Benjamins."
