Palestinian sources said a meeting between Hamas and mediators could take place in the next two days. The aim is to find common ground to restart negotiations on a hostage deal and a cease-fire agreement in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz following the latter’s announcement that Berlin would freeze arms shipments to Israel intended for the war in Gaza. Netanyahu said Germany was rewarding terrorism instead of “supporting Israel’s just war against Hamas, which carried out the most brutal attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust.”
