Israel recovers bodies of 3 captives in daring Gaza raid

In a special news conference, IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari broke the news that Israeli-German Shani Louk, 22, fashion stylist Amit Buskila, 28, and Itzhak Gelerenter, 56,  had escaped the Nova Rave massacre on Oct. 7 only to be shot later by Hamas when they found refuge near Kibbutz Mefalsim. Their bodies were then taken into Gaza by the terrorist group until their recovery this week.

The tanks' hatches were closed (a measure that hinders spatial awareness), and in the evening hours, one of the tanks identified what appeared to be a rifle barrel protruding from a window and opened fire toward the building. Tragically, as a result of this accidental firing, a company commander and four soldiers were killed. Seven additional soldiers were injured, three of them in critical condition.
