For 38 days, Silver, who had moved to Israel in the 1970s and made her home in Kibbutz Be’eri, had been believed to be among the nearly 240 hostages held in the Gaza Strip. But identification of some of the most badly burned remains has gone slowly, and her family was notified of her death on Monday.

"In these sad and complicated days, perhaps nature can bring comfort," Inbar Shlomit Rubin, who manages the site for KKL-JNF, says.
The Shanti Farm animal rescue took in dozens of pets and livestock from the south, including those that belonged to killed or kidnapped Israelis, following the brutal attack by Hamas. "The least I can do is look after the animals," Inbal Kesem, head of Shanti Farm, says.
The proportionality of the attack is not measured by the number of civilian casualties that it resulted in; rather it is determined by what the commanding officer knew or should have known in real time when the attack was planned and executed.
Speaking to CNN, Netanyahu asserts that “100 or so” people had been evacuated from the Shifa Hospital and that Israel had created safe corridors.
