Tributes have been pouring in from the gambling industry and beyond paying respect to Sheldon Adelson's life, vision, and philanthropy.

Many will thank Sheldon Adelson, the successful businessman and great philanthropist. I am grateful to him as the human being to whom I owe my very life.

Sheldon Adelson was deeply committed to ensuring Jewish youth have the chance to visit Israel and bond with it.

Sheldon Adelson was not an observant Jew, but his heroic actions for the sake of the state and the people were godly.

Sheldon Adelson was a Zionist who cared about Israel and the Israeli public. He believed freedom of expression meant every opinion deserves to be heard – and let the public be the judge.

Very few people manage to contribute to causes in numerous fields both in Israel and abroad, but Sheldon Adelson did just that. His vision made the world a better place, and now doctors of the Adelson School of Medicine carry it on.

Sheldon Adelson saw deepening the ties between Israel and the US as the surest investment in the future of the Jewish people and the state of Israel.

Sheldon Adelson. Corporate titan. Billionaire businessman. The world’s foremost Jewish philanthropist. But through and through, the warmest man with the biggest heart.

Sheldon and his wife Miriam did more than anybody else to strengthen Jewish education and identity, mostly through their flagship project: Birthright Israel. He never forgot where he came from.

Sheldon Adelson's daring and creative imagination resulted in unprecedented enterprises. He will always be remembered as a man who was committed to the Jewish people throughout his entire life.
