The Israel Police have arrested eight people on suspicion of failing to prevent a crime in the case of the fatal stabbing on Hagai Street in the Old City of Jerusalem on Sunday that claimed the life of Adiel Kolman.
A police investigation into the attack led them to conclude that eight local residents and tradespeople who were in the vicinity of the attack saw what was transpiring and took no action to prevent the stabbing or intervene.
The police arrested the eight suspects, who range in age from 15 to 67, on Monday and brought them in for questioning. Two of the detainees were released and court hearings were scheduled for the other six on Tuesday.
The Israel Police said they are continuing to deploy additional security forces in both east and west Jerusalem, particularly in the Old City, to prevent or thwart any attempt to harm innocent people.
