The spaceflight group Virgin Galactic revealed on Monday the design for a jet capable of cruising at an altitude of 60,000 ft. and flying at Mach 3, three times faster than the speed of sound.
This new design will revolutionize air travel, significantly reducing the flight time between destinations.
Virgin Galactic has partnered with Rolls-Royce in order to design and develop propulsion technology that would allow for aircraft like this one to travel at such high speeds.
Aesthetically, this plane will also be different, resembling more a fighter plane than the more cumbersome-looking passenger planes.
