The opening ceremony of Ariel University's Adelson School of Medicine took place in October 2019. I and 70 other first-year students were privileged to make history alongside Sheldon and Miriam Adelson.

Mr. Sheldon was thanked by speakers at the ceremony, and Dr. Miriam gave a medical lecture on addiction, which is her area of expertise.
Very few people manage to contribute to causes in various fields both in Israel and abroad.
But you, Mr. Sheldon, together with your wife Miriam, were one of those people: you established an outstanding, modern and professional medical faculty − in a strategic Zionist location, no less − that offers a unique track for students who decide to study medicine after other careers and at different ages because they want to promote medical research and care for the sick in Israel.
Your pioneering leadership and outstanding contributions will be remembered throughout history.
Your vision made the world a better place, and now the doctors of the Adelson School of Medicine will carry on that vision.
On behalf of the faculty's very first students and those who were present at the opening ceremony, I offer my condolences to Dr. Miriam and the Adelson family, and to the people of Israel, and all those who have Zionism running through their veins.
