The Palestinian unrest in Judea and Samaria saw an uptick on Tuesday after many took part in the "Day of Rage" events aimed at showing solidarity with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, as hostilities between Israel and the terrorist organization continued for the eighth day.

Two large protests were held, including in east Jerusalem, as well as several terrorist incidents, leading to many arrests. Many other incidents took place in a smaller capacity.

In the Ein Prat Nature Reserve near Jerusalem, some Palestinian arsonists set the area ablaze, and in Hebron, a man tried to carry out a terrorist attack with two improvised explosive devices, a submachine gun and Molotov cocktails. After hurling the bottles on Israeli soldiers, he tried to shoot but could not fire because of a malfunction and one of the explosive devices exploded on his body.

The man, who is a known terrorist from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was shot to death during the incident by Israeli troops nearby.

Several hours later, several thousand Palestinians rioted near Beit El, and one of them shot at Israeli troops nearby. Two Israel Defense Forces soldiers were hurt and were subsequently evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital. One Palestinian died after other soldiers fired back at the source of the fire.

Meanwhile, in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, where Jewish-owned homes have been contested by some Palestinians and used by Hamas as a pretext to engage in the latest hostilities, more violent demonstrations were held by residents.

Several hundred youths could be heard chanting terrorist slogans and some even hurled rocks and ignited improvised fireworks toward the Israeli troops nearby. In other parts of east Jerusalem, some 40 cases of arson were reported, most from Molotov cocktails and burnt tires.

Meanwhile, in other parts of Judea and Samaria, many areas were deliberately set on fire.
