Kochavi is accompanied to the Singapore Airshow 2022 by his wife, Yael. The two flew in an Air Force airplane over Saudi airspace, with a stopover in Abu Dhabi.

The chief of staff is also expected to meet with defense officials while in the country.

In Kochavi's absence, Deputy Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi will carry out the military chief's responsibilities in Israel.

A few days ago, the Defense Ministry inaugurated the national pavilion at the airshow, at which eight Israeli companies will showcase their products.

These include Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems, Aeronautics Defense Systems, Controp, IAI and Rocket Propulsion Company "Tomer," Orbit Technologies, and Steadicopter.

"The world is transitioning into a quieter period, with many opportunities for Israeli security capabilities," Director-General of the Defense Ministry Amir Eshel said. "We will work together – the defense and industry ministries – toward a leap that will strengthen Israel in terms of security and strategy, as well as economically and socially."
