A terrorist was shot and killed by police officers in Jerusalem after carrying out a stabbing attack.

The man's behavior appeared suspicious to Border Police officers patrolling the Temple Mount area in the Old City. After approaching him, he took out a knife and attacked them. Two officers suffered moderate stab wounds and were evacuated to a nearby hospital, while another was treated on scene for minor injuries.

The Temple Mount area was briefly cordoned off during the incident. "The terrorist arrived at the Iron Gate [to the Temple Mount plaza], took out a knife and targeted officers," a first responder told Israel Hayom. "The officers responded quickly and shot him.
